Baby Shower 2011

Hello,
I just wanted to take a minute and say what a fabulous shower I had today!!  What a blessing it is to have so many wonderful people in my life.  My girls Elizabeth and Hannah put a lot of time and their babysitting money into my gifts.  I am honored to be their mom!
The cake was to die for!!   My dear friend Deb Meyer made it and Oh My!!!  Check it out on my pics below.
Thanks to Kris Rial, Toni Midgett and Teresa Periman for throwing it for me and to all the ladies who sacrificed their Saturday to come. Being a military family is hard at times cuz we miss our family so much but having all of you in my life makes it better;) Ur my family too!!!
I gotta say Benjamin is going to be the best-dressed baby boy in Currituck County!
Things, otherwise, are going well also.  Mark started working at the church this past week as a temporary part timer.  Praise the Lord for his provisions.
I am 33 weeks in 2 days and I think it is finally starting to sink in that this is really going to happen.
Love ya!!!

Update

Hi all,
Well, not a lot has changed since I posted last.  Mark is still looking for a job.  We were blessed this week because he is able to work for the VA Arts Festival.  He is worn out as most days he is putting in 15 hour days. Night before last he didnt get home til 3:30 am and had to be back up at like 7!  Don't know how he does it but he makes it work because he loves the kids and I...and we love and appreciate him for all he does for us.
Elizabeth is still nannying (is that even a word).  She loves it but is starting to think more long term I think and will probably start some college courses this fall.  She is a beauty and I am so blessed to have her!!!
Markie is going to his Junior prom this Saturday!  Oh my gracious!  How is he a Junior already?  Doesn't seem possible.  He has grown into such a handsome young man.  I still have to download the pictures from the play Beauty and the Beast that he was in at the beginning of this month.  He was Gaston, rival of the Beast, and did an outstanding job.  Boy really has got some talent...and I know I'm his momma, but I'm not the only one saying it so it has to be true;).  He will graduate next year from High School with over 50 college credits!  Woot!  Go Early College High School!!!!
Then there is Hannah. Still going strong in 7th grade.  So proud of her as she is growing up and learning to make wise decisions in her life which even for us adults can be challenging at times.  She is favored among her teachers and when they need an example of good workmanship etc. they seek her out.  Makes her feel good and that all her hard work does pay off.
I am 31 weeks and 1 day pregnant with our wonderful Benjamin (sure hope the dr and sonogram were right) and it's not going to be Benjamina.....hahaha.  Don't think his Uncle Jack (who his middle name is being named after) would like it much.  He is so active these days and I'm loving that.  What I'm not loving so much is my back and hip pain!  Oh my.......it hurts!  Ouch!  Starting physical therapy soon and hoping that will help!  My wonderful friends Kris, Toni and Teresa are throwing me a baby shower on May 7th and I appreciate that so much.  They are my family away from family!  Love u girls!!
My mom thought she had pneumonia back like 2 months or so ago only to find out, by landing in ICU, that it was her congestive heart failure.  She had both her lungs and both of her chest cavities full of fluid.   It was an extremely scary time for all of us kids as we were fearful we may lose her.  She has since bounced back so well once they were able to get the fluid mostly drained from her chest cavity then her lungs could work more efficiently and pump out the fluid.  Praise the Lord after many people prayed (thank you Fellowship Baptist Church for your prayers and support) she is home from the hospital and continuing to get better each day.  Oh and she hasn't had a cigarette in 30 days!!  WOOOOOT!!!  Huge praise there alone!!!  Oh yeah and get this....when she had her heart attack about 7 years ago her heart was only working on like 1/3 capacity and now it is up to 2/3 capacity.  Even baffles her heart doctor.  Don't tell me God is not alive and still working miracles!!!  Big hugs and kisses to my 3 sisters (Tammy, Gladys and Ali) and my brothers (Buck and Jack) for being there for my mom during this time too.  I so wanted to be there and keep vigil with her but that just wasn't to be.  But knowing they were there for her day in and day out helped me not lose it.  I love you all very much!!!!
Not sure exactly how the next few months will play out as we try to figure this life after the military out but I chose today to trust and believe in my Savior and His promise that He will never leave me or forsake me!
Thanks for reading and please post and let me know how ya'll are doing.
Love ya!

hi ya'll

Hello family and friends,
Things are going well.  Mark is still looking for a job and we are continuing to trust in God.  I am 25 weeks and 4 days today and oh my do I "feel" pregnant!
The kids are doing well.  Markie and  At the Threshing Floor (youth Praise band) will be performing at the FCA Tournament of Champions at Currituck High school tomorrow at 5.  (FCA stands for Fellowship of Christian Athletes)  My nephew, Sean ,is one of the new drummers for the band and they all have been working hard and doing an awesome job.
The middle schoolers at FBSM will be having a lock-in tonight at the Greenbrier YMCA and I am going as a chaperone.  Told my youth Pastor that he may find me curled up in a corner around midnight...haha.  Who knows when I will be able to do something like this again with baby Benjamin on the way.
Mark is still making his beautiful pens and and batons and is working on getting a website up and running to supplement our income.  Once we have it going I will let everyone know so ya'll can go shopping for these awesome pens for gifts.
The girls are doing good still.  We are all excited about meeting Benjamin in late June.  What a true blessing he is!
Our church is doing fantastic.  Our youth group had 120 students this past Wednesday night!  It is so great to see the growth that is going on not only in the youth group but overall at Fellowship Baptist Church!  God is faithful!!
Keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we seek God's direction on what He wants for us especially with Mark finding employment and the remaining 14 weeks til  baby comes!
Love ya!!
